Last weekend I went to Washington D.C. for the 51st annual Sakura Matsuri festival; Â Sakura Matsuri is a Japanese street festival held in D.C. to celebrate and promote awareness of all aspects of Japanese culture including food, martial arts, music and much more. This event also coincides each year with the National Cherry Blossom festival. Not only are cherry blossoms beautiful to photograph but they also have been an integral part of Japanese and Asian culture for hundreds of years. Below are a few of my favorite pictures from the day.
